Mental & Emotional Health
The thing about dealing with teenagers is that it can be a lot like dealing with other irrational human beings (perhaps with an emphasis on irrational). If you can manage your conversation with them, especially when they are angry, you can manage your interaction with pretty much anyone. Dealing with anger, dealing with all of those hormones, dealing with the stresses of school and peer interactions ... it can be a lot. As a parent, supporting our teens instead of causing them even more angst is a big step towards teaching them emotional management.
