Spiritual Health
What type of rest do you need? Rest and sleep aren’t the same thing. While sleep is vital, real restoration means tending to all the ways your body and mind get depleted. There are seven types of rest that go beyond shutting your eyes:
Physical Rest — Sleep, naps, stretching, yoga, or massage.
Mental Rest — Breaks from constant problem-solving; journaling or a quiet walk.
Emotional Rest — Time with people who let you be your authentic self.
Social Rest — Choosing uplifting relationships over draining ones.
Sensory Rest — Less screen time, reduced noise, dimmer light.
Creative Rest — Inspiration through art, music, or time in nature.
Spiritual Rest — Connection to purpose, belonging, or community.
If one of these areas is neglected, fatigue lingers—even with eight hours of sleep. The key is noticing where your energy feels most depleted and giving yourself that type of rest. Resting well isn’t just about sleeping in; it’s about finding balance across all seven.

Ah yes, the inconvenience of relationships.
"Being annoyed is the price you pay for community. It means having guests when you'd rather be alone. It means letting someone live with you even when they get on your nerves. It means showing up for events that you'd rather not go to. It means turning the other cheek." ~ Divya Venn
