Wellness Newsletter #165

It doesn’t make sense to call ourselves ugly, because we don’t really see ourselves. We don’t watch ourselves sleeping in bed, curled up and silent with chests rising and falling with our own rhythm. We don’t see ourselves reading a book, eyes fluttering and glowing. You don’t see yourself looking at someone with love and care inside your heart. There’s no mirror in your way when you’re laughing and smiling and happiness is leaking out of you. You would know exactly how bright and beautiful you are if you saw yourself in the moments where you are truly yourself.

This is interesting. What can we do to bring more equality to the manner in which we are raising our kids?

Happy Monday! Some of you may be getting back into the swing of school schedule. Some of you may still be trying desperately to find more (screen-free) activities to do with your kids .... Here's a good option: Shadow puppets!

New recipe: I love a good quinoa recipe; you could definitely make this with your favorite grain if you'd rather. Excellent side, and maybe an even better next-day lunch option.

New post: As a follow up to last week's article about nutrition labels, now we're going to look at the other measures that food manufacturers use to get you to buy their products.
