Let’s talk about state of mind.  You have about 50 things to do today, right?  50 things to do, and time and energy for maybe 40 of them.  Even when you multi-task, it is almost impossible to get things done, so you are regularly feeling frazzled, harried and impatient...

We’re in the middle of an epidemic.  You’ve heard it before, and I think you’ll hear it many more times: our kids are fat.  Not just heavy, but obese.  I’m not going to throw more statistics at you.  They are out there, easy to find; google it if you’re interested.  Le...

It’s kind of hard to say that I want you to acknowledge your mom.  Mostly because I feel as though that might sound as though I’m wingeing and I want my menfolk to acknowledge my own role as a mother (ahem).  And maybe that is my goal.  But.   Rather than focus on them...

I think we might be doing it wrong.  In our haste to give our (foreign service/expat) kids the world, we sometimes miss out on some of the finer things that can be found stateside.  Namely, frequent family time.  Sure sure, we stay in touch much easier than before than...

I don't know about you, but recently, we’ve hit a busier-than-normal state, and nowadays, my to-do list hardly ever gets fully finished.  That’s a real life thing, right, not just a parent thing.  I find myself, at the end of many days, not having gone through emails,...

Dyspeptic.  Crotchety.  Cantankerous.  Sulky.  Bad-tempered.  All so much more descriptive than just ‘grumpy’, right?  Grumpy is so vanilla and boring.  Want to know what my favorite tool is on the computer?  The dictionary tool.  I really love a good synonym....

Confession time: There are moments when my kids drive me bananas.  Like certifiable, up-the-wall crazy.  There are no three people more skilled at finding and pushing my buttons, except perhaps their dad.  But then there are no four people who know me better, right?  F...

Super Supper Table

Have you ever looked around at a restaurant and realized that there are kids eating in the restaurant and they are acting … well, like humans? These kids are eating nicely, using their utensils properly, not playing with their food, complaining or whi...

Meet your Coach

I am Susie Csorsz Brown and I am a Certified Parent Coach through PCI, specializing in families in transition. I am also a Wellness Coach.  I have a Health background, and I practice what I preach. I have three children, so I coach from experience. I am a Foreign Service spouse (since 2000), and have learned to deal with family issues from the stress of relocation, school issues, medical situations, pregnancy and divorce as well as family angst.

You should know, healthy eating is one of my passions.  The thing is: food can be good for you and taste good, too.  I want my kids to eat well, and to grow up knowing what smarter food options are out there.
