Did you know: the holiday season is one of the periods during a calendar year when those who are experiencing feelings of depression and angst actually feel the worst?  Watching others bask in the love and attention of family can amplify the feelings of loneliness or u...

Aren’t we lucky? I get the opportunity to learn something new, or see something that amazes me, surprises me; each opportunity, I relish.  Every day I can have some sort of wonder, I really appreciate.  Learning something new is not only the chance you...

When counting our blessings and things to be grateful for, at the top of the list of most people is family.  We love those we love; we hold them dear.  We work fiercely to keep them safe and well.  Sometimes, though, these are the very people that drive us the most ins...

I suggested (and am forcing on you) focusing on gratitude this month.  We choose what we are thankful for, absolutely.  Sometimes, though, I feel like we overlook one of the most obvious places in which we might focus our gratitude: on our own efforts.  I want to talk...

We are at a very interesting and confounding point in our human evolution: Never before have edible items been so readily available.  At the same time, never before have diet-related diseases been the number cause of death. We have access - easy, ready access- to food,...

Life with kids is full of ... really, it’s just full.  So many details to think about, to worry about, to lose sleep over.   Let’s focus on what is important, shall we?

Things not worth fighting about with your kids

1.  Hair length.  Okay, there is a point where it...

I love avocados.  I think I could enjoy them every day, and not get bored.  Life, it seems, is much like avocados.

The avocado principle:

Meet your Coach

I am Susie Csorsz Brown and I am a Certified Parent Coach through PCI, specializing in families in transition. I am also a Wellness Coach.  I have a Health background, and I practice what I preach. I have three children, so I coach from experience. I am a Foreign Service spouse (since 2000), and have learned to deal with family issues from the stress of relocation, school issues, medical situations, pregnancy and divorce as well as family angst.

You should know, healthy eating is one of my passions.  The thing is: food can be good for you and taste good, too.  I want my kids to eat well, and to grow up knowing what smarter food options are out there.
