Sister, there are people who went to sleep all over the world last night, poor and rich and white and black, but they will never wake again. Sister, those who expected to rise did not, their beds became their cooling boards, and their blankets became their winding shee...

This is an especially good reminder for those of us dealing with moving angst, as we currently are.  Happiness is a skill that we need to work on regularly.  I REALLY needed this reminder this week.

We can’t all walk around with smiles on our faces, sure, but can w...

I don’t know about you all, but my kids have spent the last 3months pretty much on their devices for hours each day thanks to distance learning requirements and eLearning sessions.

Now that school is finally out for the year, and summer is limping along, with every da...

In this day and age, NOT having a portable technological device is a bit of a handicap, especially to kids in middle and high school.  We’ve dragged our feet as much and as long as possible until we FINALLY had to give in on the mobile phones (for our eldest; still in...

Can I talk to you a minute about the kindness of strangers?

In a way, this makes me think very much of our assumptions of others, and how we can teach ourselves to assume the worst, or we can just hope for and think the best.  I think I tend to fall into the latter cat...

"Those who make peaceful revolution impossible, make violent revolution inevitable." ~ John F Kennedy.

I want to believe that there are still people in America who are capable of rational thought.  I do.

We are a country of every color, every religion, every belief...

I think, on random days, it's a good thing to be grateful for what we have, what we are, and what we are continuing to be.  Especially today, though, when we celebrate 20 years of marriage, it’s even more appropriate to reflect and to be grateful.

Dear Hubby,

Oh, the pl...

Meet your Coach

I am Susie Csorsz Brown and I am a Certified Parent Coach through PCI, specializing in families in transition. I am also a Wellness Coach.  I have a Health background, and I practice what I preach. I have three children, so I coach from experience. I am a Foreign Service spouse (since 2000), and have learned to deal with family issues from the stress of relocation, school issues, medical situations, pregnancy and divorce as well as family angst.

You should know, healthy eating is one of my passions.  The thing is: food can be good for you and taste good, too.  I want my kids to eat well, and to grow up knowing what smarter food options are out there.
